For our client in Amsterdam we are looking for an Oracle DBaaS engineer (RAC, DataGuard, Azure, Scripting, Exadata, Linux)
The purpose is to build and run the target infrastructure platform in a (private) cloud delivery model. This delivery model is based on multi-tenant, self-service, pay-per-use capabilities for applications of DevOps teams as defined in the One Way of Working.
Tribe Cloud comprises five Global Areas:
• Infrastructure as a Service
• Data Services
• Platform as a Service
• Cloud API Platform
• Onboarding and Customer Experience
Oracle Database as a Service ('Oracle DBaaS') is part of the Area Data Services and is all about delivering multi-tenant Oracle database services to DevOps teams worldwide, including self service capabilities. The 6 DBaaS squads, working in different countries, take responsibility for the full life-cycle of the service from inception through to development, launch & support. The squads are not only responsible for the service, but also the hardware the service running on.
Job description:
DBaaS is one of the main environments contributing to the Think Forward Strategy. It's the first step toward helping us produce the same products and services throughout the entire world.
DBaaS provides and maintains a database platform based on Oracle in an automated fashion to applications teams who can spend all their time developing new application feature without having to take care of the database (patching, upgrade etc).?
As Oracle Dbaas Engineer (reliability – core development) you will be part of a bigger set of teams who creates high quality DBaaS Cloud Services for our consumers worldwide.
In this role you will prepare and maintain the Code Repository, pipelines and create / test new features provided by DBaaS. You will Interact with other teams to build and maintain features for our consumers.
Your main responsibilities:
* the operation of container databases (CDB s) and consumer pluggable databases (PDB s).
* resolving / executng open incidents, tasks and changes (second line).
* Postmortems, either within the team or by writing detailed specifications for other teams.
* performing second day operations and contribute to the automation of these processes.
* actively contributing to the documentation of Dbaas as a whole.
* cooperate actively with our first line support.
Profile
* Former working experience in DBaaS
* Experience with Oracle RDBMS layer (RAC, DataGuard)
* Experience with managing a multi-tenant Oracle environment
* Well versed in Azure Devops, CD/CI tools and pipelines.?
* Competent scripting expertise (Ansible, Python, Bash)
* Senior level knowledge of ExaData?
* Linux RHEL experience?
* Experience with building and running Azure pipelines
* Proactive attitude, always on the lookout for improving your and our way of working.
* You are easy to get along with and enjoy collaborating with others.
* Strong Team Player and Experience in working with teams' cross countries.?
* A strong understanding of Agile-Scrum methodology is considered a pre.
* A focus on servicing and helping our consumers, while staying strict on not creating technical debt / specials.
* Excellent command of English language.
Your education and background:
* Bachelor s degree, preferably in Information Technology?
* Experience with working in high performing Agile Database platform team?
* Certifications and/or proven proficiency in one or more technologies requested?
